The KCR 150 is a planer type boring mill with hydrostatically guided RAM and combines the advantages of a planer type machine, such as compact design, long traverses, small space requirements and highest accuracy, with the assets of a RAM machine, which features automatic exchange of the milling heads, good accessibility of the work piece and high stability for large protruding lengths of the RAM.
Due to the superimposition of 3 axis movements (V=column, Z=RAM and W=boring spindle) an overall in-feed motion of up to 4200 mm can be obtained. This allows for an efficient 5-sided machining of shell shaped work pieces with form elements located deeply inside.
Since the machine can be furnished, optionally, as a twin-table machine or with a pallet changer, tool loading parallel to machining is also possible for heavy work pieces with larger measurements.
Depending on the size of the table assembly the machine can process work pieces with dimensions of up to 5 m edge length and weights up to 60 t. As standard, the integrated table is produced as a full NC-axis (B-axis).
