Ball SAG mill / wet

The feed limit to this mill is reduced to the maximum size that can be transferred and fed into the mill. The mill product is either an immediate size ready for final grinding in a pebble mill, ball mill or a VERTIMILL TM or ready for processing. Wet grinding is achieved in a slurry of 50% to 90% solids. AG/SAG mills are able to achieve similar size reduction tasks as two of three phases of screening and crushing, some or all the tasks of a ball mill and a rod mill.

Furthermore, these AG/SAG mills are can be ordered in several mill sizes, which allows these systems to accomplish Grinding Circuit Design AG/SAG milling combined with a wide range of flow sheets. The excellent flow sheet should be established during the testing of the ore. The common flow sheets include AG in a closed circuit with a crusher, AG-Single Stage and AG with a crusher.

These ball/pebble mills are ideal for single operation fine grinding, regrinding and second stage grinding in two stage grinding circuits. The systems are fully automated, which allows significantly less energy consumption. Also, the mills come with a software that can cope with even the most difficult and complicated open and closed circuits.

Units offered in the series range between 5 ft x 8 ft and 30 ft x 41 ft. The power unit capacities have output ranges from 75 HP to 30000 HP. The feed size is 80% 6 mm or finer for processing hard ores, or 80% passing 25 mm for soft ores. The standard product size is 35 mesh, however the mills are capable of producing finer products.

Metso conical ball/pebble mills can handle size in the range of 2HP to 450HP for wet grinding and between 2HP and 500HP for dry grinding. They are ideal for ball mills for metallic media, single-stage fine grinding, and regrinding. They can be also used for pebble mills for use of ceramic or natural rock media and during second stage in two stage grinding circuits.

The sized mills incorporate Metso’s experience of over 100 years. A classifying action is achieved by the shape of the conical ball mill. This results in higher efficiency and reduced power consumption. They also include a software, which helps in dealing with some of the most challenging circuits and complicated ores.

It effectively washes soluble or colloidal specks from the granular particles through counter-current plug flow washing. It achieves high sharpness with minimal misplaced materials via direct bed level measurement and its numerous discharge valves produce an even bed draw down, minus valve blockage or channeling. Equipped with a number of injection nozzles, equal water distribution is achieved despite minimal flow rates is delivered. The moving parts are hidden when processing the slurry which results in low maintenance as well as prolonged operating life.
