Wet mill / ball / thin / classifying - 2 - 450 hp
Metso conical ball/pebble mills can handle size in the range of 2HP to 450HP for wet grinding and between 2HP and 500HP for dry grinding. They are ideal for ball mills for metallic media, single-stage fine grinding, and regrinding. They can be also used for pebble mills for use of ceramic or natural rock media and during second stage in two stage grinding circuits. The sized mills incorporate Metso’s experience of over 100 years. A classifying action is achieved by the shape of the conical ball mill. This results in higher efficiency and reduced power consumption. They also include a software, which helps in dealing with some of the most challenging circuits and complicated ores.
During revolution in a cone, particles of varying sizes and densities perform self-classification with the biggest pieces at the location of the biggest diameter.
