Single-turn absolute rotary encoder / optical / hollow-shaft - ø 35 mm, 13 - 23 bit | ECN 1000 series

Heidenhain ECN, EQN, and ERN models are rotary encoders that feature an integral bearing with mounted stator coupling. The said models have short overall strength and are easy to mount. They are ideal for a variety of applications, ranging from speed and position control on servo drives, even the simplest measuring tasks. These encoders also feature a hollow shaft slid directly and connected to the measured shaft.

The Heidenhain ROC, ROD, and ROQ contain their own sealed bearings. These encoders are compact and rugged in design, coupled by a rotor to the shaft onto a distinct coupling that offsets the misalignment and axial motion between the measured and encoder shafts.

Multiturn absolute rotary encoder / absolute / optical / hollow-shaft - ø 35 mm, 12 - 13 bit | EQN 1000 series

HEIDENHAIN's rotary encoders, specifically their ECN, EQN, and ERN models (all complete with stator couplings and integral bearings) provide elementary mounting capacities, as well as miniaturized dimensions. These rotary encoder models are capable of a variety of tasks; they do anything from speed and positioning command, to the most basic measurement functions.

The ROC, ROD, and ROQ models are compact, heavy-duty, and contain individual locked bearings. They vary from their ECN, EQN, and ERN models, as the latter series are designed for simple mounting, while the former require independent coupling to the shaft. This separated coupling compensates for misalignment and axial motion between the regular shaft and the encoder shaft.

Multiturn absolute rotary encoder / absolute / optical / shaft - ø 58 mm, 13 - 25 bit | EQN 400 series

The HEIDENHAIN ERN, ECN and EQN rotary encoders have a specific bearing and sealed. They are designed to be durable and compact. To balance axial motion and misalignment connecting the encoder shaft and measured shaft, the encoders are linked to the rotor by the measure shaft through separate coupling. The holow shaft is run through the shaft to be measured and fastened. The applications of these encoders is an array from measuring tasks to position and speed control on servo drives. The rotary encoders specified for separate shaft coupling are ROC/ROQ/ROD 400 are mounted by either with a synchro flange or a clamping flange and are specified for dimensions and output signals.

Absolute rotary encoder / shaft / hollow-shaft / large - ø 87 mm, 13 - 25 bit | ECN 100 series

The HEIDENHAIN ERN, ECN and EQN are rotary encoders with integral bearing. They have a hollow shaft that can be slid and fastened directly to the shaft being measured. They are applicable to basic measuring tasks and speed control for servo drives. These rotary encoders are made distinct by simple mounting and total short length. These HEIDENHAIN encoders are small-scaled yet long lasting. ERN Rotary Encoders has a 6-mm blind hollow shaft, a 35-mm housing outside diameter, and a compact dimension.
Like the aforementioned rotary coders, the ROD, ROC and ROQ rotary encoders from HEIDENHAIN have their own bearings as well. They are also sealed, small-scaled, and long lasting. They function when coupled by the rotor to the shaft being measured through a different coupling that prevents axial motion and maladjustments.

Absolute rotary encoder

In positioning tasks, the absolute encoders relieve the controller of computation tasks and keep prices down by eliminating the necessity of added input elements. Absolute rotary encoders offer a clearly coded numerical worth for every shaft position.

In the past, point-to-point connections were oftentimes created for serial data transmission, however, these days fieldbus systems are getting used a lot. Moreover, reference runs once the machine is switched on or when power failures are not any longer needed because the current position price is accessible in real time. Parallel absolute encoders transmit the position price to the analyzing electronics through many parallel cables. Serial absolute encoders transmit their output parameters via standardized interfaces and protocols.

Multiturn absolute rotary encoder - ø 58 - 78 mm, max. 30 bit

Pepperl+Fuchs multi-turn absolute rotary encoders are available in a range of configurations. This particular configuration features a built-in gear set along with a single turn code disc.

Up to 16,384 revolutions (14 bit) can be counted through the gearing down and coding method of this gear set. This results in an overall resolution of total 30 bits or 16 bits (single turn resolution) plus 14 bits (number of revolutions).

This type of encoder features an exceptionally number of about a billion measuring steps. This makes it ideal for division of greater linear distances into small measuring steps.
