Absolute rotary encoder / magnetic / non-contact - 20 bits, 10 000 rpm | AksIM™

RLS has developed the AksIM™ range of non-contact absolute magnetic encoders, where the information carrier is a scale magnetized in an innovative way, while the magnetic field detection and signal processing are done by a custom magnetic sensor ASIC and a microprocessor within a compact readhead. The AksIM™ encoders are true absolute, meaning that the absolute position is acquired immediately upon switch-on which eliminates the need for reference returns.

Based on Hall sensor technology the AksIM™ magnetic encoders use 5 V power supply and offer many different output signal formats: digital SSI, PWM, serial RS422 and CAN. In addition to the position information, the status of the measurement is also provided by real time monitoring of several internal parameters.

The regular design and style enables effortless integration for existing products. The magnetic field is fitted to the shaft from the encoder physique. Turning of this magnet is sensed by a custom encoder chip from the body, and treated to the specified end result format. The particular encoder chip operates the signals captured to produce resolutions to 13 bits (8192 positions per each revolution) along with detailed operation speeds at a rate of 20, 000 RPM. The output signals are supplied in market absolute, incremental or maybe analogue formats.

The compact encoder is just 25 mm in size and supplies immunity against dirt to IP68. The RE22 may be used in numerous applications which includes underwater, healthcare, printing, converting, Industrail automation, metal functioning and instrumentation.

The RE36 5 V and 24 V rotary magnetic encoder features a 36 mm diameter body with an IP68 dirt immunity. It's a device that is applicable to different areas wether it's marine, medical, print, converting, industrial automation, metal working and instrumentation. Its original design permits an easy integration to the available machines. It is built with a magnet mounted shaft accessed by its body's encoder chip for the given output format. The device' encoder chip then now sends the signal to give a 13 bit (8192 positions per revolution) resolution and a speed length of 20,000 rpm.

The RLS RE58 is an encoder flange with a modular bearing system that has been built for simple integration to all 58 mm clamp and synchro flange applications. The compact design unites industrial encoder designs with non-contact OnAxis™ magnetic encoder system. Furthermore, the non-contact RM44 encoder located at the back of the shaft makes the encoder resistant to tough environmental challenges where other encoders stop working. The RM44 encoder is robust that it would not get damaged while the bearing/shaft stops working and is being replaced. The RM44 has incremental, analogue, and absolute protocols that reach up to 13 bit resolution giving it a wide variety of output options.
