The E38 R series is a brushless DC motor in the BG range fitted with rotor brakes. As standard, power-off brakes are employed like this unit. The IP 54 cover of the motor's brake have a combination of incremental encoder and brakes that are possible. In order to protect the DC contacts in the user's control system against arcing, the unit has a freewheeling diode. The spring-applied brake functionss when no current is applied while the design of the brake makes it intended for static braking. The axial play in the motor has no influence on brake performance.

Brake E 90 R is used in fitting Brushless DC motors in the BG range. Power-off brakes are the norm (works when no voltage is applied and releases when current flows) with power-on brakes as option. The brakes come with IP 54 covers and with different combinations of incremental encoders. Protection available is upto IP 65. Freewheeling diode is used to take care of DC contacts in control system against arcing. The brake works when there is no current supply which makes it advisable for static braking. Can be provided with manual release of the brake on request which comes with versions other than cover fitted one).

The E 90 R Series of Power-Off Spring-Applied Motor Brake, manufactured by Dunkermotoren GmbH, is specifically designed as brushless DC motor in the BG range can be suited with rotor brakes. The BG range includes brushless DC motors which can be fitted with rotor brakes. Power-off brakes are used as standard meaning that the brake releases when current flows and operates when no voltage is applied. Upon request, power-on brakes can be supplied.

IP 54 covers are available for all brakes; IP 65 protection is possible depending on the motor-brake combination, many of which are possible from the various brakes and incremental encoders available. The use of a freewheeling diode can protect the DC contacts in your control system from arcing.

The E300 R is a spring-applied brake which operates when no current is applied. When combined with the motor BG 75, the brake forms part of the extruded motor body.
