Laser welding optics - TRS

The mirror focusing optics of this series have a free aperture of 50 mm and are characterized by a pivot axis so that the laser beam can be aimed at a defined angle to the workpiece. The optics are fitted with welding nozzles for coaxial and lateral gas delivery. The focal length of the available focusing mirrors range from f = 100 mm to f = 300 mm.

Laser welding optics - TLS

The mirror focusing optics of this series have a free aperture of 50 mm and are characterized by a linear axis to define the position of the laser beam on the workpiece. The optics are fitted with welding nozzles for coaxial and lateral gas delivery. The focal length of the available focusing mirrors range from f=100 mm to f=300 mm.

Laser welding optics - CFO Series

The optics in the CFO series have the same imaging properties as the BEO D70 series. Sensors monitor all important functions. For example, the protective glass is monitored for contamination using individual, definable limit values and if necessary, it can be replaced in seconds.

Double lens / achromatic - 700 nm - 12 µm

Knight Optical, one of the leaders in the industry, is known for building and designing IR achromatic double lenses of the finest quality. They meet a custom specification, as requested by the customer who requires this from their product. The wavelength range covers the near, mid and far infrared, while FAR-IR wavelengths can also be met. The suitable optical materials are often used for optimizing the design and to meet custom user specifications.

These availability of the materials depends on their waveband, as well as how achromatic the doublet needs to be. Typical applications include optical fiber and laser outputs. The doublets can also be part of a larger optic such as LiDAR systems and IR array sensors. Finally, the manufacturer also supplies quality custom made doublets on request.

Aspherical lens

Custom Aspheric lenses are designed for correcting spherical aberration in lasers and imaging. Spherical aberration happens when the converging light from a lens does not have the same center-point, distorting the image.

Old spherical lenses cannot efficiently collimate light, since a small angle of incidence can result to spherical aberrations. Some components are needed to acquire preferred result. One component can efficiently focus or collimate divergent emissions because of the non-sphere shape of the surface of the lens. This replaces a multi-lens system with a single aspheric lens.

A wide selection of custom-made aspheric lenses is offered to satisfy customer needs.

Ball lens

The ball lenses in this series are spherical lenses, commonly used to couple light in and out of fibers. Knight Optical provides a range of custom ball lenses, adapted to custom specifications, while the custom ball lenses are available in custom sizes with various quality grades, as well as a wide range of materials, meeting specific requirements. The custom sizes of the ball lenses are 0.13 to 50mm for the diameter, while the host of materials is available from Ruby for UV applications down to 175nm.

The manufacturer is able to supply high-precision three-ball lenses, as well as mid-range grade 25 ball lenses and commercial grade 100 ball lenses, to suit any application.

Bi-convex lens - ø 3 - 250 mm

The custom biconvex lenses supplied by the Knight Optical offer a vast range of products available in a couple of options namely being uncoated or with anti-reflective coating. These biconvex lenses that are usually available in a wide range of diameters ranging from 3-250 mm,are characterised by a simple design with two convex spherical surfaces, both of which are equipped with the same radius of curvature.
The custom range are produced with or without the coatings, depending upon the applications they are meant for that is either for visible applications through to NIR applications, or the lenses for telecoms IR applications which require the anti-reflective coating. The lenses can even be custom designed in accordance with the customer specifications in addition to the provision of an alternate edge stock lenses for a quick turnaround.
Due to the simplicity of these lenses, they are widely used in focussing and control of laser beams, moderate quality imaging and other optical instruments. High skilled technicians in the state of the art metrology laboratory are responsible for testing each component to ensure the quality standards.

Cylindrical lens / plano-concave / fused-silica

The Knight Optical Concave lenses are plain lenses with single circular face and single flat plano face. Due to the circular face being concave the lens have a pessimistic focal length, permitting them to develop the difference of concurrent light.

The Knight Opticals offer tailor made concave lenses which could be utilized to stabilize the circular peculiarities created by other lenses. Hence, this creates the need for concave lenses which could be used in regulating laser beams. The Knight Opticals tailor made plain lens have a wide array of purposes comprising of - focusing and regulating of laser beams, medium quality imaging and various optical instruments.

A general use of the tailor made concave lenses could be in a beam expander.
