The skiffy plastic part bearings are made out of nylon-66 (PA-66). They have a natural color. They conform to DIN h6-H7 fitting, which means that the hole diameter where the bearing is fitted is either the same size or slightly larger. Once the bearing is assembled there will be a 1 % bearing clearance in the shaft diameter. The bearings come in an assortment box 019.

Pressure breakers from Hoerbiger are designed to reduce pressure fluctuations for subsequent sealing rings. These efficient breakers are constructed with cast iron, PTFE, PEEK, bronze and other robust materials for an extended service life. Pressure breakers are typically required for pressures over 300psi (20bar) differential pressure between suction and discharge.

The pressure breaker throttles the gas pressure pulsations instead of sealing. It can restrict the gas into the case (single-acting) or in and out of the case (double-acting). Pressure above 20bar ensures the minimal load on the main packing seals and prevents the entry of dirt into the packing.

Hoerbiger back-up rings protect non-metallic sealing rings from extruding in the clearance between the piston rod and the packing cup. The rings are typically constructed with cast iron or bronze. Only the end space of the packing case cup is sealed by the rings. There is a small gap in the bore hole from the piston rod.

The rings enable PTFE to be used as a sealing ring at high pressures. A broad variety of materials are available for a range of applications. Examples include natural gas or food industry.
