Metabo BAS 260 Swift band saw offers simple saw-blade exchange and saw-blade guard height adjustment, without any tools. It offers excellent cutting performance, due to the three-roller band saw-blade guides (top and bottom) with the optional extension for radius cutting (circle sawing accessory), and excellent stability (large swiveling cast iron saw table). It is designed to work with single phase alternating current.

There are two cutting speeds available for this method, which make the item useful for various materials and applications. In addition to this, the lever is a quick-release one, being suitable for quick saw blade changes, as well as easy conversion to the belt grinder.

Drive Wheel Transmission, the drive motor has a variable speed driven pulley which is directly coupled to high efficiency planetary gear reducer as well as the drive wheel that is mounted via the rotating gear reducer and rotating output case. Both belt and pulleys are guarded from dust and fluids which extend the life with reduced maintenance. Drive systems and band wheels are in cast iron for a long productive life. Drive wheel is mounted via the outer rotating case via the planetary gear reducer. The direct coupling of the drive wheel to the outer rotating case of the reducer provides deflection free torque transfer and ensures that the wheel runs no matter the tension stresses or cutting loads. The head has carpentry robust design. It comes in two versions, blade at 0 or inclination of 3 for optimization of profiles cutting. Feeding is done by hydraulic cylinder sliding on linear guides. It features feeding as well as pressure control valves, having monstats in frontal position. Both rotation and rotation stop is by hydraulic cylinder. Magnetic band with .0,1 tolerance is used for reading degrees. Stop lips are at 60 right and 60 left. The head features a stress detector, which prevents blocking of the blade in the material.

Blade rotation is by a 4 kw blade motor, which is controlled by an inverter. For heavy loads, the machine has a high-performance and noise free bevel gear box. Blade 1 nozzle has a minimum lubricating system. The blade rupture limit switch and blade rotation reading sensor are used for blade rotation control. In case of 0 cuts, better clamping is provided by the interchangeable jaws. Unlimited feeding is possible at the material translation unit. Rollers, which are driven by brushless motors, are used for feeding.
