Intrinsically safe safety barrier - 12 - 24 V

This barrier is intrinsically safe and a perfect complement to BEI’s encoders. With relevant cable assemblies, it constitutes an entirely engineered encoder operation solution in Class 1 and 2 and Division 1 and 2 hazardous environments. Signal isolation and power are both provided by this single barrier for an incremental encoder with an index and differential quadrature outputs. Benefits of this all-in-one approach time and cost savings and convenience.

The BEI barrier has required certifications that allow for the installation of intrinsically-safe encoders: EN-61000-6-2, EN-55011, US and Canadian Standards Class 1, Groups A through D, Class II Groups E through G, Zone 0 and ATEX EX-ia-IIC-T4 and CENELEC. The barrier, which is designed around a DIN rail mounting standard-type, can be used to carry signals up to a maximum of 500' with a maximum bandwidth of 250kHz.
