The WaveReady™ Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) Optical Add/Drop Module (OADM) splice packs are part of a family of flexible, low-cost solutions that expand the capacity of existing fiber. Through the use of CWDM technology, individual channels can be optically added or dropped from a fiber pair while allowing 1310 nm pass-through traffic to continue unobstructed through the bus or ring.
CWDM OADM bidirectional splice packs provide both east and west add/drop functionality and are readily deployed in existing outside plant splice enclosures in combination with WaveReady CWDM Mux/Demux products at the headend. They provide ample room for fiber management and splice holders.
CWDM OADM bidirectional splice packs interoperate with both the WaveReady line of transponder and optical regenerator solutions as well as ITU G.694.2-compliant small form-factor pluggable (SFP) transceivers and transponder cards widely used in transmission equipment.

They are the building blocks of Agile Optical Networks and provide the flexibility to remotely reconfigure any or all wavelengths, thereby reducing time-to-service, simplifying the network and streamlining planning and management. This results in significant Opex and Capex reductions and faster time to revenue. In addition, they enable the cost effective creation and deployment of more complex network architectures.
The JDSU WaveReady 3000 series LPR-530DWC1SA path and equipment protection module is a rugged, plug-and-play, bi-directional protection switch for single mode fiber (SMF). It can be used for both equipment or fiber protection. A typical application would be the protection of multi-channel links on SMF.
The LPR-530DWC1SA continuously monitors optical power on both its primary and secondary links. If optical power on the primary link drops below a certain threshold, the module switches traffic to the secondary link in less than 15 ms.
Two switching schemes are available. Manual operation allows for on-site or remote switching from one link to the other. Automatic operation in window switching mode allows users to control both the lower and upper level switch activation points. An automatic switch-back feature resets the module to its original configuration when the primary link power levels return to normal.

Athermal 50/100 GHz Dual Optical Frequency Interleaver (OFI) module.

The WaveReady OFI demuxes a common 50 GHz 88-channel stream into two 100 GHz 44-channel streams offset by 50 GHz. It can also multiplex two channel streams onto a single fiber. A completely passive architecture, an athermal design facilitates rapid deployment with enhanced predicted stability and improved reliability. The module requires no power or external cooling cooling requirements, thereby reducing operational cost.

Deployed in conjunction with the industry proven WaveReady 44-channel passive Multiplexer/Demultiplexers (MDX-44MD1F1CB and MDX-44MD1N1CB), the WaveReady OFI enables a complete 88-channel DWDM solution, supporting 50GHz channel spacing, compatible with any data rate up 40 Gbps per channel.

Optical fiber interleaver - IBC Series

The JDSU interleaver is a terabit-enabling technology for ultradense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) applications. When used in the mux configuration, the interleaver combines two streams of periodic optical signals (one stream carries even channels and the other carries odd channels) into one stream of signals of half the channel spacing. When used in the demux configuration, the signal is separated into two complementary streams (even and odd channels) of twice the channel spacing.
The low dispersion interleaver, based on patented technology, features a wide clear bandwidth, minimal thermal drift, low insertion loss, low ripple, and low polarization dependent loss (PDL). Temperature control is not required.
