The FT8104 transmitter and FR8104 receiver are units with uni-directional contact closures and four-channel bi-directional data. They have the ability to transmit data channels and contact closures simultaneously over a single optical fiber. Both units are available as single-mode and multi-mode versions.

When using the fiber with the single-mode, the transmitter and receiver provide a transmission distance of up to 25miles. The data channels support individual selection of RS-485, 422, 232 and bi-phase communication. The contact closures allow a choice of normally closed or normally open outputs. A wavelength division multiplexing is integrated in a single fiber. For monitoring laser status, signal status, contact closure activation, data activity and operating power, LED indicators are featured. The transmitter and receiver are designed to meet the environmental standards of NEMA TS-2 and Caltrans Traffic Signal Control Equipment. The power supply is 12VDC or 24VAC .
