Merobel's torque limiters can be easily integrated into any type of system. They are capable of rapid response, seamless and noiseless operation, and repeatable slipping torque levels. The limiters' design also provides low wear and long life, with no maintenance.

The torque limiters have a torque range of 0.06 Nm to 85 Nm, and a size range of 0 to 700 with corresponding power ratings from 8W to 500W.

Overload clutch - Safegard series

The overload clutches of the Safegard series serve as safeguards against overload of high torque values. These highly compact units are compatible with other units currently available on the market and offer a cost-effective, low-maintenance alternative, with excellent precision and long service life. These units are available in two versions: Standard and Mini. The first offers optimum speed and torque while the second one represents a cost-effective solution for slower drives. Both versions are also available as shaft couplings. These products feature 4 design options: basic Safegard CSF design, with ball driving system suited for high speed, non synchronous applications, Synchron CSY design, equipped with a roller drive for lower speed synchronous applications, Safe Lift CSL that features a roller drive in constant drive, that indicates overload via axial movement onto the limit switch and Safebreak CSZ design where the unit remains in completely free running condition after overload and requires manual re-engaging.

CZ series of Zero backlash Overload Clutches and Couplings can be accessed in 8 different basic types and 12 basic sizes with pole diameters ranging between 8mm and 60mm. It offers protection against excess overload for torque value that range across 5Nm and 740Nm. These clutches supply an anti-backlash relay of power along with a highly sensitive excess load safety.

Additionally space-saving Zero backlash Overload Clutches and Couplings can be easily replaced by the current structures for a low-cost and a dependable lifespan. It features two modes of function including the general CZF Safeguard ratcheting structure consisting of unevenly placed driving balls for the re-involvement of the clutch. This can present a complete homogeneity across the driver as well as the sensitive excess load impact.

Sheargard Overload Couplings offer low-cost protection on functions where torque control and shaft synchronization are needed. With a compact and low-inertia unit, the couplings can transmit high torques that can go up to 125,000 Nm. Timely delivery is enabled by the standard stock products.

When used with a limit or proximity switch, an optional motor monitor plate can allow the use of the machine without the power supply, as well as the use of alarm signals in case of an overload.

Crosse-Morse's CS Series of standard overload clutches come in 8 different sizes, each integrated with 3 operating modes: simple overload, synchronous overload, and safelift. They are also available in 7 sizes of the maximum dis-engagement designs. All sizes are incorporated with 3 systems of supporting drive gears, pulleys, or sprockets that enable flexibility in operation design.

The Type A systems permit driven gear connection with its own bearing support functions. Type B systems are incorporated with needle roller bearings, delivering full driven gear support. The Type C systems feature extended inner race mechanisms to mount larger pulleys with plain bearings.

Up to 4 different torque configurations are available on a specific clutch size. The configurations are controlled via selection of actuating spring sets, delivering a selection of torque rates to choose from.

Type E clutch allows connection of driven gear that has its own external bearing support. Type F comes with extended inner race which is suitable to mount larger pulleys. These have a bronze or needle roller bearing.

The standard unit comes with four torques while synchronous version comes with three torques. The CS Mini series of clutches is designed for moderate speed applications with low radial forces and infrequent tripping. It is also suitable for inline stop switch, or proximity switch.
