Greater Efficiency for Production Grinding and Resharpening
The SCHUNK PRISMO3 tool grinding toolholder directly clamps every shank diameter between 3 mm and 20 mm without the use of collet chucks or intermediate bushings in a changeover on the fly, fully automated. The tool shank is automatically centered in the toolholder during the clamping process. An optimized contour assures that the grinding wheel can run out unimpeded, even in demanding operations. In comparison with conventional multi range grinding toolholders, the set-up time is reduced by up to 70% with PRISMO3. Since the X-axis always remains unchanged, regardless of the tool diameter, which means all chuck jaws remain in the identical axial position, it is possible to machine the widest range of drilling, reaming, and milling tools around the clock in unmanned operation without reprogramming the L1 measurement, even in the smallest quantities.

Compact dimensions and Durable Design.
The design layout, the base sleeve, and the robust construction give the toolholder its exceptionally high rigidity. Its sturdy jaw guidances prevent the grinding discs from swinging up and almost completely eliminate tube imbalance. In order to prevent dirt accumulation, and to permanently maintain the high precision, the toolholder is rinsed with clean oil during grinding operation. PRISMO3 is compatible with the grinding machines from all renowned manufacturers. Compact dimensions of 125 mm x 125 mm leave ample space for the tools, grinding process and loading.

The TRIGOS series of Polygonal Clamping from SCHUNK offers a flexible program for operations and optimized solutions. It has a 0.003 millimeter run-out accuracy, and can change tools within 20 seconds. It does not require maintenance, and is HSC compatible according to a 205000 rpm test. Its sleeves and tool extensions offer a wider clamping range. The axial length may be configured, and it operates steadily at faster operational speeds. It is also well balanced based on a G 2.5 standard or 25000 1/min. The series has a clamping range from 0.3 to 32 millimeters, and a maximum transmissible torque of 350 Nm.
