Alpha Marathon has developed, designed and produced numerous mono and co-ex blown film lines for agricultural, construction and geo membrane applications.
Alpha provides the technology, experience and equipment to produce textured or smooth finish films. Textured films can be produced with a smooth edge for welding purposes when sealing the sheets together on site.
Agricultural and geo membrane films typically can range from 10 mil up to a 100 mil profile thickness.
Alpha has the capability to manufacture blown film dies up to 100” in diameter with downstream equipment ranging over 7000mm in width.
Alpha’s unfolders and side slitting capabilities deliver an open sheet to the winder for a finished roll product.
Agriculture Blown Film Line

Typically manufactured of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and Polypropylene (PP). 
Depending on the composition, the membrane can be of potable or industrial grade, have outstanding dimensional stability, high puncture resistance, possess chemical resistance, environmental stress cracking resistance, and have an ability to contour to surface abnormalities.

This system features a downward water cooled blown film line that is well-suited for those seeking a high output co-extrusion line. With Alpha Glacier, customers are able to see and feel the difference with the improvement of the optical properties.

As the film is extruded from the die, it comes in contact with water to quench the film. In contrast, if the film is cooled very slowly, the heated film is susceptible to stretching and tearing. This compromises the quality of the film and integrity of the line. If these either of these problems arise, these disruptions become very costly. By cooling the film quickly with water, these issues are averted, maximizing production time and increasing production capacity. With Alpha Glacier, the integrity of the bubble improves and prevents line interruptions during processing, promoting economic viability

Windsor Machines' Crown Series of monolayer blown film plants features comprehensive levels of output (approximating at 280 kg/hr), complete with thickness rates that range from 8 microns to 150 microns. Models of the series also exhibit film width rates that measure 2,500 mm.

Other features of the Crown Monolayer Lines include barrier screw designs, grooved feed sections, and AC Variable frequency drives. They sport integrated candle filters, solid structural architectures, and two-station semi automatic winders.

Optional specifications (available upon request) include liquid PIB dosing systems, PLC touch screen components, gusseting units, and gravimetric dosing or batch blending capabilities.

The DUKE Series is considered as the first model of the multilayer co-extrusion blown film plant in 1994. The non- IBC 3 layer unit has the ability to work with a layer ration concept wherein the maximum output is 250 kg/hr in a film width of 2100 mm. It is also highly integrated with an extruder range of 50 mm, 55 mm and 60 mm to help in the operation of the device.

REX is a Multilayer Co-extrusion Blown Film Plant manufactured in India in technical collaboration with Kuhne GmbH in 1997. This is IBC three layer co-extrusion blown film line that works with effective Layer Ratio Concept with output of maximum 650 kg/hr & with maximum film width of 2700mm. The fully automatic winder with auto change over of rolls has a capacity of bearing 1000mm dia x 1000 kg weight of the film roll. It can attain a maximum line speed of 150. The range of extruders is 55mm, 60mm, 75mm, 90mm & 120mm. Rex Multilayer Lines have Kuhne design spiral mandrel die head for effective layer ratio distribution (up to 1:4:1 on request). It has high performance segmented air cooling ring. It also comes with 9 point contact type motorized cage and a Barrier screw design. It has an AC variable frequency drive and a Reversing haul-off. It also possesses a fully automatic winder with auto splicing and auto roll changeover.

REX 1500 Series (IBC) Hybrid - a three layer blown film co-extrusion lines is a modern result for the film processors in developing countries which has been produced by Windsor's 20 years rich association with KUHNE GmbH Germany.

Hybrid Blown Film Co-extrusion lines are the newest contribution to the industry with German technology at reasonable Indian cost. The key & important parts such as Co-Extrusion Maximiser Die Head, Maximiser Air Cooling Ring & IBC control are given by KUHNE & unified in WINDSOR- KUHNE.

Blown film Co-Extrusion lines have features such as automatic thickness profiling & gravimetric batch blenders. This exact line was has been displayed and explained at Plast India held at Delhi on February 2012. The best feature of Hybrid lines is to give high productivity even on small film sizes. The in-house experiments exhibited the increment in mechanical film properties when distinguished with regular Blown film lines.

Die adopts the latest technology with spiral type design to give smooth parison flow and allow pressure drop to avoid die line. Air ring of aluminum casting chamber with high precision machining and polished air surface to give even air flow and maximum stability.
Turbo cooling blower with inverter control to give accurate air volume adjustment. Stabilizer to assist a better hold for HDPE bubble stability.
Free size gusseting board as well as the embossing roller units are the standard attachments for HDPE.
Winder of surface friction type design, a hand free operation from film winding to reel change. Film cutting is controlled by counter to give alarm when setting meter is reached and cut by air knife operated by rodless air cylinder. Labor just required to load the empty winding shaft and move out the finished film roll. Winding air shaft is the standard attachment.

The workable materials that can be used are such as LDPE, LLDPE, MLLDPE, and HDPE. The film production range is from 1,000mm to 2,100mm in tubular width, and the production output rate is from 50 kg/hr to 400 kg/hr.

Features

The extruder is built with a screw length ratio of 28:1 and 30:1 with a grooved feed barrel in order to achieve the best plasticization, mixing result and high extrusion output rate.
The extruding die adopts the latest technology with spiral channel design to give smooth parison flow and allow pressure drop to avoid the die line.
The air ring gives an even air flow and maximum stability.
Heat insulation is provided in between the air ring and the die head to give a better control of air cooling.
A bubble cage, with height and diameter adjustable by motor, is also the device for LDPE/LLDPE film processing.
The take-up unit is designed and built with a heavy duty steel frame structure.
The oscillating haul off unit is available in a vertical or horizontal design, as per the customer's request.
