Tertiary treatment was brought about in compliance with regulations that are demanding or the modern conceptual reuse and the need for improvement in the waters quality. The SeptinGuard manufactured by Nuove Energie is a self-cleaning screening plant that is designed with best technology to separate the coarse solids from the tanker waters. The plant is composed of a stainless steel tank that incorporates an in-channel Vanguard V2 Self-cleaning screen with 6 mm spacing. The tank is directly fed from the incoming tanker trucks or by gravity from a receiving station. The on-board control panel is equipped with all the necessary controls for operating the screen and motorized inlet valve.
When the tank's septage reaches a predetermined level, the Vanguard Screen is actuated by a level switch located inside the tank to consistently run the screen long enough for complete removal of all the screenings from the tank. SeptinGuard design incorporates three spray bars to insure best possible cleanliness of the screening belt and the tank from all fecal matter. The compact SeptinGuard is completely covered to keep odors at minimum.

The TE Series with doctor blade outside the drum is used to remove the screenings using integrated screenings compactor while the TI Series with internal screw is used for removal of screenings. This product series consists of high quality belt screens, which make use of an endless chain, useful for removal of screenings. The chain is constructed using a highly durable plastic called ABS. At the same time, the combination of materials chosen by the manufacturer is ideal for a self lubrication chain, with the chain being maintenance friendly and lightweight.
The ABS hooks help transport the screenings from the bottom of the channel into a container or a hopper. The chains can be cleaned using a combination of spray nozzles and a brush, preventing the chain from being clogged and ensuring a safe operation. Note that the compacting units and the conveyors are part of the supply scope.
