These TE Connectivity PARALIGHT active optical cable assemblies are using updated technology to give practical high data throughput interconnects. It uses 850 nm VCSESL technology so that the 5 Gb per second assemblies will be operating a 2.5 to 5 Gb/s per lane data rate with a grand total of 20 Gb/s per direction. Another data rate of 2.5 to 10 Gb/s per lane with a total sum of 40 Gb/s per direction is managed by 10 Gb/s active cable assemblies. These active optical cable assemblies are attainable up to 100 meters long which uses 50 micron fiber.
