Speed monitoring system - 0.1 - 99 Hz | MOC3SA series

Designed by SICK, these safety controllers offer zero speed and drive monitoring and have 4 safe semiconductor outputs. The maximum input frequency is 2 kHz and there are 2 application diagnostic outputs for failure and status display. There are three models: PL e (EN ISO 13849), SIL 3 (IEC 61508) and SILCL 3 (EN 62061). The safety controllers have diagnostic LEDs and an adjustable monitoring limit/frequency of 0.5 to 99 Hz or 0.1 to 9.9 Hz.

The safety controllers are easy to commission by just using a screwdriver, they have an additional HTL encoder interface, a tool backup using the Flexi Classic Configurator and Flexi Soft Designer, and the cascading of multiple axes is possible.

They use zero speed monitoring for access monitoring and they safely limit speed in the maintenance mode.

The simple and user-friendly safety controllers uses residual voltage measurements for standstill monitoring. The device features 3 normally open and 1 normally closed positively guided safety contacts. It also features 2 application diagnostic outputs for semiconductors, 1 application diagnostic output for converter, PL e (EN ISO 13849-1), SIL3 (IEC61508), SILCL 3 (EN62061), 690 V maximum voltage supply, adjustable voltage threshold and standstill period.

The device offers several benefits such as quick mounting and installation without any additional wiring requirements. The device offers simple commissioning with a screwdriver and an easy retrofit as the mounting of sensors is not needed. The controllers finds several applications including monitoring of machine drives, door release following standstill detection and unlocking of hazardous areas

It has 4 brake ramps, and monitors at 10 speed levels making it capable of monitoring multiple axes and increases machine productivity by monitoring movements instead of shutting down.
