Because the Krohne Optiwave 5200 is SIL2-compliant, it is a non-contact radar level meter that uses FMCW technology. The OPTIWAVE 6300 C is a non contact Radar (FMCW) Level Meter for Solids. This device uses a unique Drop antenna design for very dusty atmospheres and has one converter for all antenna types (PTFE Drop, PP Drop and metallic horn). It gives a more stable reading compared to a pulse radar thus, making it a guaranteed solution for measuring accurately in dusty conditions. The OPTIWAVE 6300 C is designed for distance, level, volume and mass measurement of powders, granulates and other solids. Presenting Krohne's OPTIWAVE 7300 C, the radar solution for liquids. It is a non-contact radar (FMCW) level meter for liquid applications; specifically for distance, level, volume and mass measurement of liquids, pastes and slurries.

This tool gives a more accurate measurement with less variation than pulse radar, making it suitable for difficult course conditions as in agitated process conditions. It can operate in very low and very high process temperatures so long as the process connection temperature limits are checked. Its antenna is designed for specific purposes, either drop or hygienic.

The measuring principle of this device is a fairly simple one. Since the product is made based on the electromagnetic pulse reflection, this has been redirected on a sensor rod, being reflected by a filling material. It is also useful to know that the sensor comes with various integrated electronics that help determine the filling state.

Once the device sends out its electromagnetic pulse, the pulse is then reflected onto the filling material and received once more. The pulse's echo time is directly proportional to the distance it stands from the medium surface. Finally, the measurement procedure is very accurate and is independent of factors such as pressure, vapor, dust, foam and temperature.
