This apparatus can use measuring cross, parallel wire, and T(R) methods in performing its task. This device is necessary for efficient energy use in industrial kiln engineering with refractories. Hot-wired method is used for direct identification of thermal conductivity, based on the amount of temperature increase of a linear heat source. The device's parallel-wire technique is when the thermal conductivity is based on the distance of a linear heat source. This device features a hot wire and thermocouple embedded between two test pieces that complete the actual test assembly. A time-dependent temperature increase after turning on the heating current is a measure of the thermal conductivity of the material being examined.

Various types of experiments call for various requirements. Good transition detection requires low sample mass, high sample mass is required to accurately determine heat capacity; analysis may need constant or variable temperature, the crucible may be used open or close. To satisfy diverse needs, two types of sensor have been developed. MHTC 96 hf-DSC is used to study structural transformations in metals and alloys, minerals, oxides. The device is used to formulate equilibrium diagram, study material reactivity at high temperatures and determine heat capacity Cp as per continuous or incremental method.

MHTC 96 drop finds application in isothermal mode especially used for drop calorimetry to determine specific heat of very different materials, the heat of solution of metals in metal baths (alloy formation), oxides in oxide baths (complex oxide formation), calculation of thermal balances, etc. The device in programmed mode serves as DSC mode for large samples.

Used together with the TGA 96 this weighing module produces a high level of performance. It can weigh samples of up to 100 g. It also measures both micro quantities of samples (a few milligrams) and large dense samples all the while maintaining the measurement resolution within a microgram of the mass analyzed. It is possible to perform several configurations when analyzing samples with the TGA 96. A sample can be suspended directly from the balance without being placed in a crucible. Or the sample can be placed in a crucible and directly suspended from the balance. A third option is for the sample to be placed in a TGA rod with built-in thermocouple to obtain measurement of its temperature.
