In addition to the compact design of this unit, it is also available in two versions which allow for extra flexibility for the end user. The memory medium in compact flash format is also available as an optional module. Note that the operating system supported is Microsoft Windows CE.

Beckhoff CX1010 CPU module is the basic module of the CX system and comprises of CPU and internal flash memory in two levels of implementation. It offers an option of operating an additional memory medium in Compact Flash format II.

The PC/104 interface, available on both sides, can be used for connecting all other components of CX family.

CX1010 allows the addition of various hardware and software with the operating system as either Windows CE or Windows Embedded Standard.

The basic configuration includes an Ethernet interface and a 64 MB Compact Flash card. The scope of supply also includes a passive cooling module. The basic CPU module can be equipped with additional system interfaces or fieldbus connections.

Using the TwinCAT automation software, CX1010 can be converted into a powerful PLC and Motion Control system operable both with or without visualisation.
