The MAXk series is manufactured by Pro-Dek, and is a PCI bus-based motion controller that has the capacity to accommodate up to 10 axes of user-definable servo and stepper motion control. Each axis of the MAXk controller can be modified, and used as either a servo, or an open/closed loop stepper. The device is embedded on a PowerPC 32-bit RISC processor that runs at 226 MHz.

The model has an accuracy for point-to-point moves at +/-0 counts, and it has the capacity to compensate any backlash.

The MAXnet 5-axis motion controller for stepper plus servo motor control utilizes a single 4 x 6.5" card, complete with either an Ethernet and/or a RS232 communications interface. Operators can set each axis to be an open or closed stepper, or a servo axis, and the unit supports 16 bit analog servo outputs plus step and direction system applications.

A PID filter servo loop is utilized, complete with feed-forward coefficients plus and update rate of 122ms on the 5 axis. Buyers can also choose to implement an additional 8 User Definable I/O for the synchronization and controlling of other events. All servo axis utilize single ended or differential incremental encoder feedback, which is available to use for position feedback but can also be used for slip or stall detection.
