The ELM series is comprised of variously-sized linear units so that the designer and/or user is able to select the most suitable system according to loads and shuttling speed required. The ELM series actuators use steel reinforced polyurethane drive belts with, AT pitch and parabolic profiles. This type of belt is ideal because of its high load transmission characteristics, compact size and low noise. Used in conjunction with a backlash-free pulley, smooth alternating motion can be achieved. The anodized aluminium extrusion used for the body of the ELM series actuators were designed and manufactured in cooperation with a leading company in this field to obtain the right combination of high mechanical strength and reduced weight. The carriage of the ELM series is made entirely of anodized aluminium. The dimensions vary depending on the size of the actuator. It consists of three parts to allow a sealing strip to pass through.

Motorized linear axis / linear motor-driven / compact / axis - 50 - 125 mm | ELB

Precise and quick
The SCHUNK linear motor axis ELB has been especially designed for precise and dynamic strokes. The combination of a powerful linear motor drive with a particularly smooth running, pre-loaded junction roller guide, makes the module extremely compact, rigid and dynamic. The SCHUNK ELB positions relatively high loads with a continuous excellent repeat accuracy of 0.01 mm. The maximum acceleration amounts to 100 ms-2 and the maximum speed 4 ms-1. For demanding joining and placing processes, users benefit from enormous precision, extremely short cycle times, as well as a high level of productivity and process stability.

Save costs and time
The precision module is available in three stroke variants of 50 mm, 75 mm, and 125 mm. It can be optionally equipped with an incremental stroke measuring system (sine or cosine interface) or with an absolute stroke measuring system (Hiperface or SSI interface). The absolute-value transducer eliminates the need for expensive homing when the system boots and after emergency stops. In addition, the module needs neither end nor reference sensors, reducing the investment costs, programming effort, and number of cables in the cable set.

Linear module - 7 650 - 11 380 mm | Gamma 90

Extremely high load bearing capacity
With the linear module SCHUNK Gamma 90, SCHUNK adds to the lower part of its successful gantry series, which is designed for high load capacities. The closed and thus particularly rigid basic profiles guarantee an extremely high load rating in conjunction with durable profiled rail guides and without additional support. The sturdy, selfsupporting axes are specifically designed for loading and linking machine tools, as well as laser cutting and processing machines.

Optimal adaptation
The modular build allows the 90 mm wide module to be both customized and economical at the same time. It can be equipped with a rack and pinion drive for high loads or with a toothed belt drive for high process speeds. Two or more slides can be controlled independently of each other with the gear rack drive. Two slides can move independently of each other with a toothed belt drive. A rail clamping element is also available for vertical applications, preventing uncontrolled sinking during an emergency stop or power failure.

Linear module compact - 3 800 mm | LDx

Schunk presents LDx linear modules for fast and high accuracy applications. SCHUNK's latest LDx series provides significant improvement over the previous versions. Compared to a similar-sized module, high-performance servo motors deliver a 15% increase in rated force. This opens up future possibilities for providing a similar performance by using smaller modules. It also allows movement of higher masses into vertical applications.

The compact and economical devices offer three universal linear modules as standard - LDN, LDM and LDT; LDK and LDH, which are short-stroke modules and LDF, which is a flat linear module.

The module allows both horizontal and vertical usage. It also provides a choice between static profile and moving slide or static slide and moving profile.

Available are absolute encoders, which provide a repeat accuracy of 0.01 mm per axis. Reference runs, and along with them their time-intensive programming are eliminated by the absolute encoder.

Electric linear axis / ball screw / compact / high-performance - ELS

Unlike conventional spindle axis, the ELS axis disposes of a stationary motor. Only the slides move and are driven out telescopically. Therefore the space requirement of the axis is minimal and the moving mass is reduced, meaning that smaller and therefore more economical drives can be used. The standard module is driven by a Bosch-Rexroth MSM motor.

Perfectly integrated in the modular system
To round off the program of modular high-performance assembly, SCHUNK is putting a compact, energy-efficient cantilever axis with spindle drive and profile rail linear guides onto the market. Unlike conventional spindle axes, the ELS axis disposes of a stationary motor. Just the slides are moving, and are driven out telescopically. Therefore the space requirement of the axis is very low, the moving mass is reduced, and smaller and therefore more economical drives can be used.

Freely combineable
As a part of the modular system for modular high-performance assembly from SCHUNK, they can be combined with various pneumatically or electrically driven modules. Since they are fastened via threads and center bores, the axes can be quickly and easily assembled and adjusted. The ELS is ideally suitable for applications, where the module should leave the working area again, or as a Z-axis for short strokes.
