Exterior turning tool - CC series

The CeramTec IKS clamping system is optimized for turning applications with work pieces made of steel, hardened steel, cast iron, and other particularly difficult materials. The system is specifically designed to perform machining and clamping operations in difficult working conditions with frequent cut load changes and pulling cuts.

The IKS-PRO Clamping System is equipped with five clamping types: the center hole type, smooth type, and notch type modules. These modules are developed to enable high productivity in specific operations, due to high cutting standards.

The series may also be enhanced with an IKS-PRO extension for process reliability and efficient material handling.

These grooving tools can work in many ways such as boring, grooving, axial grooving, chamfering, profiling, backboring and threading. They are fitted with a clamping holder with a shank diameter of 16mm and can be used for internal grooving in bores with a diameter even greater than 16mm. They feature a grooving depth of up to 300mm deep with tmax of 3.5mm and a 5mm for bores with a diameter of 18mm or more.

They can be machined with a shank diameter of 20mm at an entry depth of up to 30mm. The clamping holders in a left- or right-hand design are available for the shank in g6 quality. They also feature a stable shank with an elliptical-shaped cross section along the l2 dimension which ensures and provides excellent anti-vibration characteristics for superior quality.
