It has been specially developed for explosive environments. The sturdy IRB-EXP photocell can be used as a safety, reversing, as well as opening device in conjunction with automatic operators. The IRB-EXP will work with any control board that can accept dry contact on the input. It is very easy-to-install and can be used with garage doors, rolling doors, parking barriers and other various equipment located in hazardous environments.
It has various benefits such as it can be aligned easily with precise tuning. It is highly reliable. It has no focusing lens.
Its features include, a specially developed to be used in explosive environments and has a NEMA 4 and 7 housing and NEC Class I, Groups B, C & D, Class II, Groups E, F & G CSA certified, CENELEC certified, EExd IIC. It is free of copper and has an aluminum Epoxy finish. It has potentiometer range adjustments which can enable more precise tuning to site. The through beam design cannot be affected because of shiny surface. It has modulated infrared so as to decrease the effect of sunlight, fog, rain, dust and dirt. It has no focusing lens.

The IRB-HB manufactured by EMX Industries Inc. It is a through-beam photoelectric sensor, with a maximum operating range of 115 ft (35 m). It has a safety photo beam that meets with the UL325-2010 standards. It also has a robust housing in NEMA 4X enclosure.

Features of the sensor include type B1 non-contact sensor, simple 2-wire connection, selectable frequency modes, and potentiometer for configuring the sensitivity. Its lens-less design decreases fogging and false triggering.

As options, a gold anodized aluminum protective hood, gray powder coat steel hood, L-shaped mounting bracket, liquid tight strain relief connector, set of nylon mounting screws with nuts, are available upon customer request to meet various requirements.
