The mounts transmit power free of maintenance and slippage, while providing ample protection to the belt. It eliminates the need for compensating for belt elongation on a regular basis. Any extra tension on the belt is avoided as torque peaks are absorbed at start-up.
The mounts provide continuous compensation for stretching, hopping, fluttering, and any extra pull at start-up. This is possible due to preloaded suspension with high amount of self-damping. These features make the RunRight tensioning motorbase as the ultimate choice for belt drives used in motors.
For transmission of the necessary torque to the driven system, a key requirement of belt drives, especially V-belt drives featuring one or more belts, is optimum belt tension. In case the tension is not adjusted, a lot of power is lost during torque transmission.
As a result, all drives of this type require a device to ensure the motion position is adjusted or a belt tensioner for compensation of the the regular belt stretch. The belt stretch can be up to 4 to 5% of the actual length in case of V-belts.
