The PMB series is an electromagnetic power off brake that has a wattage rating that ranges from 6 W up to 18 W. The unit has a compact, and lightweight layout, and thus enables to attain higher torque outputs. The torque is directly regulated by a flux which allows a brake to be tuned to offer a softer stop in an operation. The model is flexible as its mounting flange, output hub, and its armature assembly can be adjusted to comply user specifications.

The PMB Series is integrated with a spring mounted armature, which prevents any backlash from occurring within the brake. When the brakes are discharged, an air gap is present which fully frees the armature which results in a zero drag torque.

The FOPB-N electromagnetic mag-particle brake series provides a fast response. Over-excitation circuits quicken the response rates further. The torque is independent of speed and at the same time, proportional to the voltage applied to the field. The OP units are sealed to prevent wear particles from contaminating the machine. This also avoids contamination of the clutch by the machine environment. The sturdy construction of the OP series unit and the precise formulation of the magnetic particles combine to provide it an extended life. The unit is to be mounted horizontally. If the unit is used in a slanted or vertical position, torque will not be consistent.

The PB series, and the PC series are manufactured by Ogura Industrial Corp., and are magnetic particle clutches and brakes that have been specifically developed to retain high performance in steadily slip operations within their heat dissipation capacities.
