When it comes to resistance welding processes, the parts that require joining can be pressed together, heated by an electric current until pools of molten material form between them. The operation requires high currents, along with large pressing forces, while the forces between the workpiece and the electrode can reach up to 450 MPa during the welding process. This represents a considerable challenge when it comes to welding withstanding the loads.
