The injection molding plastic granulator is developed by MAIN TECH S.r.l. It is specifically designed to cater applications that involved transmission. Features of this product includes its low number of turns and adjustable fixed blades. In contrast with a normal granulator even it has an equal transmission belt, this type of granulator is capable of reducing energy for at most 50 %. In addition, it is also capable of reducing powder formation in the grinding stage as well as the pieces that are heating in the grinding phase. Furthermore, this injection molding plastic generator can deliver reduction in blades wear as well as reduction in noise production. The granulation chamber sides of this instrument is equipped with interchangeable hard steel plates.

Injection molding plastic granulator - GRM230, 340-490

The GRM230/340-490 compact granulator and shredder series is machinery built for promptly recovering medium-sized sprues and scraps. It can do this either as periferal machinery in a centralized system, or directly at the machine. The machine is ideally designed for feeding from the conveyor or robot, or manual feeding.

To keep the number of turns low, a robust gear motor is used with high torque. Regrinding is possible thanks to the innovative multi-blade design of the rotor, and to the reduced number of turns.

The construction includes a carbon steel grid, built-in stainless steel blades with high-resistance and a labyrinth with an opening on the granulator chamber side, through which powders are unloaded. The gear motor works at reduced power for energy savings.

Design of the knife system and thick steel cutting chambers assures reliability and low noise level. The granulator is readily accessible. A front access door lifts off to fully expose both removable screens, bed knives, and rotor knives. Cleaning and adjusments are handled in a fraction of the time ordinarily required. The low-profile WG Series granulators are only 23-1/4" high, so they can be located directly beneath the trim press for on-line operation with continuous airveyor removal.

The 3-blade open rotor with Twinshear cutting geometry offers quieter, cooler operation and is ideal for polypropylene.

The two pivoting doors offer complete access into the bottom of the cutting chamber (screen cradle and screen). The larger 12" cutting circle and open screen area allow maximum throughput.

The SML series includes machines for normal, everyday applications in the plastics-processing industry, besides the injection or blow moulding machine as the central granulator for larger parts, as edge trim cutters and for many more application possibilities.
Granulators of the SML series are available with rotors from 220 to 800 mm in diameter, a working width of from 300 to 1450 mm and drive performances from 5.5 kW to 160 kW. The C-models of the series are available with space-saving, fully integrated noise protection.

Here we present a new solution for the material feed to shredding machines. The material no longer falls into the grinding chamber under the force of gravity, but is fed horizontally and evenly to the rotor by a screw conveyor.


Granulators of the SML series are also available as washing granulators. In this application, contaminated plastics are granulated with the addition of large amounts of water. The resulting friction produces a good washing effect. Washing and shredding are combined into one operation.

Central plastic granulator / heavy-duty - SMS series

The SMS models are machines for particularly demanding applications: the size reduction of heavy lumps, tough fibres, extremely thin films or simply very large material throughputs. We manufacture machines with a working width from 500 to 2000 mm and motors from 22 kW to 250 kW. The SMS models are preferably and widely used in recycling industries, as they can be modified with an equally high throughput from the grinding of large and voluminous hollow objects to the grinding of large and heavy lumps and sheets.

The material is evenly and horizontally fed into the rotor with the help of feeding screws. This way of material feeding shows the following advantages compared to the traditional configuration:
Higher throughput (30% to 50% more capacity with the same cutting chamber in size, compared to gravity-fed machines)
Less power consumption (30% to 50% smaller motor with the same capacity as standard gravity-fed granulators)
Suitable for dry and wet operation (washing granulator for post-consumer plastics)
The rotor is evenly loaded (fewer fines and dust in the regrind)
Reduced acoustic emission
No fly-back
A special advantage for the operator is the possibility of feeding a larger quantity of material into the storage tank; this quantity is then automatically conveyed into the granulator. So it will not be necessary for the operator to continuously feed the material manually. Another advantage is the increased degree of protection for the operator by preventing material fly-back. The large opening required for belt or manual feeding is no longer necessary, this reduces the acoustic emission even
more.
Possible ways of loading are with a fork lift or with a gaylord dumper or with a belt conveyor.
