The drum pump that is usually fabricated from aluminum, stainless steel or polypropylene is ideal for eliminating chemical for any 55-gallon drum. It comes in a basic drum package that consists of a pump, a bung adapter, an air safety shut-of, a siphon tube, a weather seal and a base. These are pre-specified components that adapts to materials of construction, guaranteeing total fluid compatibility. It has a sealed structure that uses bolted fasteners to prevent fluid leakage. Its main feature is its ''unbalanced'' air valve that prevents stalling during operation.

It is specifically designed for 5-gallon straight-walled pails that contains liquids such as grease, paste, silicone, and other similar components. The hand lever pumps the liquid to bottom-fill 2.5, 6, 8 or 12 oz cartridges in collaboration with luer lock barrels from 3 cc up to 55 cc. An inner follower-plate assures that the majority of components are utilized.

When OTAL pumps are used, only the tube comes into contact with the liquid. This means that nearly every liquid is able to be filled off by using the tube models in PVDF, PP and stainless steel 304.
