Technique
Neue Herbold - Single-Shaft-Shredders are equiped with a slow operation rotor. A hydraulically controlled ram feeder transports the feeding material into the cutting area of the rotor. Once the ram feeder has reached its final position it returns automatically to its starting position.
A powerful drive unit with a hydro clutch supplies strong engine power.

The RL Series of Neue Herbold Polystyrene Shredders is specifically designed for reducing the size of EPS and PUR foam. the size-reduction technique of these shredders is very different from the granulators used for plastics. This shredder operates with a cross beater rotor, but no rotor knives. This ensures that the cell structure of the material is not disturbed. The size of the granulate is based on the size of the screen hole and the distance between the cutting instruments.

The design enables the SB Screw Shredder to breaksdown bales with excellent precision. Screw-shaped shafts are installed for parallel operation. These shafts are mounted on the bearings in the center of a chamber channel in the lower channel area, where a screen removes the dirt and sand. The material breakdown or size reduction is processed through meshing of the screw-type flights on the rotor shaft, and the counter teeth that are present at the point of discharge.
