The LED beacon is a visual alarm device to complement audible alarm devices. The device is a type A product for indoor use, while all the electronics, lenses and LEDs in this product are mounted in an ABS housing. The shallow base and deep base of the beacon are options that give the device higher IP protection.
Note that both bases come with bayonet style detents and a locking screw, and users can connect the beacon directly to a COM loop using a four-way screw terminal block. Last but not least, there are up to ten beacons that can be connected on each COM loop.

Whenever Alert Annunciation function in used in EBL systems, there should be an AA unit to set the alarms and for other tasks. Descriptions on the functions of AA units are detailed later. Depending on the c.i.e., you have point or zone alarm presentations. As there is a list of alarms, you can easily scroll down and choose from the unit's LCD display. The characters in the LCD are backlit. Each alarm is accompanied by user definable text message when it is programmed in the c.i.e. About 617 texts can be programmed for the alarms, selected and stored in the unit, so the texts won't have to be sent from the c.i.e.

Model SLM500 offers 3 externally initiated channels via separate electrical inputs: Channel 1 (alert), Channel 2 (pre-alarm), and Channel 3 (alarm). Channel 1 includes a visual signal only; field configurable to steady or flashing mode. Channels 2 and 3 add a unique audible tone to the visual signal, selectable from 64 tones with high acoustic performance with an output of up to 105dB(A). The tones on Channles 2 & 3 are programmable via a dip switch, allowing selection from 32 tones each, and the volume of the selected tone is adjustable (down to 65dB(A) for the highest performing tone).
