This MTM Power ST Series is a one phase power and commutation choke. Once of the uses of the power choke its to load and make sure of the often required short circuit voltage with a percentage of 4 to the mains. Next would be the damping of harmonics. And also, power choke is used for the limiting of inrush current and give a longer lifetime of the devices with transitional circuit at the input.
While on the other hand, the sue of commutation choke is that it enables a low ripple. It can also be used for damping of harmonic and bridging main power failures. The commutation choke also limits the peak currents. For this product, it is suggested to secure the gap of 50 mm at a minimum to the metal parts.
