GFD metal-O rings are produced of metal tubes or solid wire material. The material is shaped and welded to rings or other figurations. The O-ring consists of stainless steel or other alloys and can be electroplated with silver, cooper, indium, nickel, gold, lead or other metals or can be coated with Teflon*). The flowing of the coating material improves the sealing especially under high pressure and / or vacuum. With conventional flanged joints many technical data, from which only very few are precisely available during the design state, have to be known for the calculation. Also the values for the rigidity of the flange, the screws etc. have to be available. The consequence are extensive calculations with imprecise or assumed values and the involved disadvantages.

C-ring seal / metallic

The GFD metal C-rings in this product series are static sealing elements, which you can use for machines and installations with high requirements. In addition to this, the metal C-rings are also regarded as more elastic than standard metal O-rings, as well as other metal seals. Note that the pre-stressed forces are approximately one third of the ones for O-rings. However, the pre-stressed forces differentiate, in accordance to the heat, material, treatment and tolerances.

The sealing is also secured by means of the spring-back of the metal C-rings, moved inside the flanged joint. The deformation or prestress is approximately 20% of the ring height, while the metal C-rings are available for internal and external pressure or axial thrust. The seal can operate, as the metal C-rings are open towards the thrust face, while the rings are also available with a ring outside diameter ranging from 6.5 mm to an impressive 300 mm.

The Knitted Mesh Soft Gaskets are manufactured by Temas, and are made for shielding requisitions which has a low compression resistance gasket that is needed. There is a layer of fine monel wire mesh knitted over a urethane foam, which provides an efficient EMI shielding performance and mechanical characteristics.

The gaskets can be supplied, customized or terminated based on the technical standard of the consumer, which are flame retardant based on UL94-HF1. They are made up of a light density foam with a size of 0.09 mm.

The shape is usually circular, but can be oval, lozenge, oblong or pear. Classification of the various types is made according to their foreseen use.

CENTERING RINGS
The thickness of the centering rings depends on the thickness of the seal. The use of rings has precise aims:
- the outer ring serves as a centering device between the bolts, prevents lateral expansion of the seal and serves as a reference thickness for correct assembly;
- the inner ring has an antiturbulence function, since it usually has an internal diameter equal to the internal diameter of the flange. It is normally constructed with identical material to that of the spiral, so it protects it against corrosion and eliminates any flange erosion.
