Circular seal / metallic / ceramic fiber / graphite - 9 TX

Circular seal / metallic / ceramic fiber / graphite - 9 TX
TEXPACK The spiralwound gaskets are made of metal tape with a specially shaped profile coupled with a filler tape (graphite, ceramic or glass fibre, PTFE), spirally wound with constant winding tension. The shape is usually circular, but can be oval, lozenge, oblong or pear. Classification of the various types is made according to their foreseen use.

CENTERING RINGS
The thickness of the centering rings depends on the thickness of the seal. The use of rings has precise aims:
- the outer ring serves as a centering device between the bolts, prevents lateral expansion of the seal and serves as a reference thickness for correct assembly;
- the inner ring has an antiturbulence function, since it usually has an internal diameter equal to the internal diameter of the flange. It is normally constructed with identical material to that of the spiral, so it protects it against corrosion and eliminates any flange erosion.
