Needle bearing

The Machined Type Needle Roller Bearings from Iko are instruments with low sectional height and large load ratings. They come in three types: caged needle roller bearings, guide needle roller bearings, and capilube needle roller bearings.

The bearings' outer rings are characterized by a high rigidity which can easily be used for light alloy housings. The bearings comes in both the metric and inch series, which both have the caged type and the full complement type. They are also available with and without an inner ring.

Needle bearing / radial

Iko manufactures a wide variety of shell-type needle roller bearings that have high load capacities. The unit has a lightweight design, and features a shell-style external ring that is made of a particular thin steel plate that is precisely drawn, carburized, and quenched, which results minimal sectional height. The shell-type needle roller bearings are available in two models which is the caged-type, and the full complement-type. The suitable variant can be chosen depending on the working conditions.

The caged-type bearing has a design where the needle roller is both guided by the cage and the thrust rings. It is ideal for use in operations subjected to high-speed turns. The full-complement-type needle roller bearing is ideal for use in heavy-load operations at low-speed turns.

Needle cage -

Needle Roller Cages are bearings which present an enhanced rotational performance. These can accurately integrate and retain needle rollers with small dimensional variations in precisely shaped cages. These cages are responsible for accurately guiding the needle rollers.

The cages are effective for use in small spaces when combined with shafts and housing bores that are heat-treated and ground as raceway surfaces. They can also withstand harsh operation conditions such as high speed rotation and shock load. This is due to the lightweight design, high rigidity, and large lubricant holding capacity of the cages.

Needle cage - KT...EG, KTV...EG

These needle roller cages are designed as bearings for engine connecting rods. Some models fit the large end, and some fit the small end. They offer high performance in racing motorcycle engines as well as small motor vehicles, outboard marines, high-speed compressors, snow mobiles, etc. The roller cages also have use in general purpose engines. Bearings designed for engine connecting rods are typically used under complex conditions such as high temperatures, heavy shock loads, stringent lubrication, and high speeds. Not only are these cages durable, they are also lightweight. They provide superior wear resistance in extreme conditions.

Needle bearing / radial - ø 3 - 165 mm (0.1181 - 6.4961")

Radial needle roller and cage assemblies are ideal devices for automotive and truck conveyance, agricultural and construction apparatus, dual cycle engines, and pumps and compressors. This roller is housed in an optional steel or polymer cage that provides both inward and outward retention for the needle rollers and reduced pressure velocity effects due to the optimized cage piloting geometry. Additionally, it has an upgraded roller fatigue endurance and reduced axial drifting impact. It has a specialized coating with enhanced attributes for resistance to corrosion and abrasion. Its size ranges from 3 mm to 165 mm bore (0.1181 – 6.4961 inch).

Drawn cup needle roller bearing - ø 3 - 139.7 mm (0.1181 - 5.5")

Drawn cup needle roller bearings, are known for supporting relatively large radial loads and are capable of reducing friction between rotating components. They have a drawn outer shell, acting as a raceway for the rollers. Bearings are available in 3mm to 139.7mm bore size. Though the bearings feature a small cross section, they are capable of high-load capability in minimum space. With the help of a press fit housing, it is easy to install these cup bearings. As the outer ring can be drawn accurately, there is no need for subsequent matching. The bearings are available either in open ends or single, closed-end designs. Depending on applications these have two or integral seals. A single lubricating hole and matching inner ring are other options. The bearings are used in a variety of applications including transmissions, transfer cases, engines and valve trains, steering and braking systems, axle support and outboard engines.

Needle bearing / heavy-duty - ø 5 - 335 mm (0.1969 - 13.189")

The Koyo Heavy Duty Needle Roller Bearings are available in 5mm to335 mm bore. They have outer rings that are machined and ground level shaped that are complemented by needle rollers that are guided and retained by a cage. The thick outer ring enables a high load capacity and resistance to shock with a very small radial cross section.
These bearings are available in various metric and inch sizes together with various design features such as side flanges, separate end washers, integral seals, oil holes, single or double cage sets, rollers and inner rings. They are used for various applications such as automotive transmissions, two-cycle engines, gear pumps and sheaves. They are also capable of retaining lubrication and attaining maximum speed.

Needle bearing / combined - ø 5 - 70 mm (0.1966 - 2.7559")

Like most needle bearings, these combined bearing units from Koyo are capable of being matched with an alternative thrust washer (as the opposite raceway) or even internal ring. These bearing models from Koyo are designed with a high-quality thrust bearing (cylindrical, or needle-type roller bearing), as well as a radial bearing (needle-type roller bearing). their construction method was done with drawn cups in mind, the difference being these particular designs consist of additional thrust bearing. Their dimensional measurements vary (from 0.2-inch bores, up to 2.8-inch bores), with some of them having integrated dust caps as a bonus.

Some of the applicable functions of these combined bearings include machine tool purposes, automotive transmission uses, and of course, the general industrial utilization.

Needle bearing / combined

The combined needle roller bearings can accommodate both axial and radial loads because they consist of a radial needle roller bearing combined with a thrust bearing. Where radial space is limited, the combined needle roller bearings provide the means to produce locating bearing arrangements. They are ideal for use in applications where other types of locating bearings take up too much space, where the speeds are too high, the axial loads are too heavy, or the lubricant is not suitable for simple thrust washers.

Combined needle roller bearings are supplied by SKF in three designs. These are needle roller/angular contact ball bearings, needle roller/thrust ball bearings and needle roller/cylindrical roller thrust bearings.
