This scrubber design series can achieve removal efficiencies of over 99.9% on most gaseous contaminants at energy saving low pressure drop. Series 5000 Packed Towers incorporate our high throughput Hi-flowSM dumped or structured packed bed section, filament mist eliminator and liquid distribution system specifically match engineered to meet the particular application requirements.

Each unit is fitted with a large capacity integral recycle sump section to ensure proper liquid retention time.

The Series 5500 Crossflow Scrubber is the type to consider when less then 99% removal efficiency is acceptable on gaseous contaminants and a low profile horizontal scrubber design is required for rooftop or other height limited installations. This scrubber is equipped with the same Hi-flowSM throughput low pressure drop packed bed section and mist eliminator as our Packed Towers for maximum efficiency.

Extremely versatile scrubber series utilizes our special high performance sieve, valve or bubble cap tray designs in single or multiple stages to achieve high efficiency gas absorption or particulate removal with extremely low liquid throughput. Series 6000 Tray scrubbers have less tendency to foul on dirty solids laden gases or liquids than packed towers due to large diameter tray openings.

A droplet and mist removal element section is included to eliminate droplet carryover. Easy access arrangements for tray servicing compliments this rugid scrubber design.

The ideal scrubber selection for low to moderate gas volumes when gaseous and or particulate contaminant removal is required. The Series 6500 Jet Scrubber creates its own draft to eliminate the need for a fan in most cases realizing cost savings and system simplification. Inherent with this design, gas is scrubbed with no bypass resulting in a scrubber that can be used for large turndowns in gas flows. The Jet scrubber utilizes a high scrubbing liquid to gas ratio also making it the preferred selection for treating high concentration gas streams to reduce the resultant exothermic reaction temperature rise of the scrubbing liquid.

Jet scrubbers are available in single or multiple stages to precisely meet the degree of contaminant removal required.

The extremely efficient gas atomized Series 7000 and 8000 Venturi Scrubbers are the best choice for applications requiring the removal of smaller micron and submicron size particulate down to 0.2 microns and meeting EPA classified PM 10 and PM 2.5 standards . Soluble or chemically reactive gaseous contaminants are easily removed with these highly efficient devices. Both Series 7000 Rectangular and Series 8000 Annular throat units feature Bionomic proprietary Maxi-Impact optimized long liquid-gas contact throat sections offering reduced pressure drop and superior collection of smaller micron sized particles then conventional venturi, rod deck or cylinder element throat configurations. Throat sections are offered as standard with an adjustment mechanism with manual or automatic actuators for maximum flexibility in meeting the needed operating conditions, collection efficiency and gas volume range. To further the energy savings, Series 7000 and 8000 Venturis include long taper static pressure regain sections to achieve particle growth and droplet agglomeration to reduce fan horsepower.

Choose the Series 7000 Rectangular Venturi for the majority of applications as the most cost effective solution, and the Series 8000 Annular Venturi for troublesome scale forming and surface adhering particulate. Both designs are engineered for rugged simplicity for reduced downtime and maintenance.

THE PROBLEM

Odor and corrosion problems from various manufacturing processes are often the result of multiple airborne contaminants. Industries such as pulp and paper, oil and gas refineries and wastewater treatment generate contaminants such as hydrogen sulphide, an undesirable by-product which is malodorous, toxic and highly volatile.

In wastewater treatment facilities, specific characteristics such as basin detention times, loadings to biological processes and sludge generation potential can influence the odor levels.

Septage and sludge handling systems are also common sources of strong odors. Odor generation is often the result of organic overloading, inadequate supply of air, improper ventilation, or simply the failure to recognize that certain unit processes may require the implementation of special odor control technology.

Typical nuisance odors and corrosive contaminants are also produced in the manufacturing of chemicals, fertilizer, pharmaceuticals and food processing, as well as waste transfer stations, incineration plants and garbage depots.
