Full power converters for synchronous generators are currently the fastest-growing technology on the wind market. Synchronous drives offer an extremely high energy output and can better fulfill the grid requirements in connection with the full power converter. PCS Green Line converters offer all aspects of a modern full power converter solution: from the monitoring and control functions to modularity and flexibility all the way to the partial load capability. The PCS Green Line full power converters rely on liquid-cooled IGBT-based 4-quadrant converters. Each power module offers an output of up to 500 kW (620 kVA). The inductor-type parallel circuits make the converters scalable in 500 kW increments, which means they can be used flexibly.

As an example we present the Green Line 1522: As a full converter for a maximum power until 1,500 kW, it feeds the entire generator output into the grid. Using a brake chopper in the voltage link moreover provides the fault-ride-through capability demanded by grid operators.

During an unbalanced short circuit of two phases in the medium voltage range, Green Line 1000 uses the remaining phase to supply reactive current.

The StecaGrid DualString range consists of a solar grid connected inverter, a solar grid-tie inverter, a PV grid inverter and a solar inverter. This range is built with a four-line display, a data logger used to store yield values and a country-specific grid that monitors changing current outputs. An interface card may also be included. Each inverter is equipped with two inputs that are installed with an MPP tracker. A single module string can be linked to each input and if needed, the inputs can be linked in a parallel way. This system provides low susceptibility to negative effects such as semi shadowing, functional faults or the dropout of a string.
