The MELEXIS MLX81200 series sensorless 3 phase motor controllers are mainly used for automotive applications, for 12 V. They feature a 16-bit flash micro-controller, with high voltage analog periphery for BLDC motor driving. They are very small, and are therefore perfect for integration in various systems.

They utilize the TruSense technology, which represents a combination of reluctance measurements with BEMF sensing, yielding highly precise rotor position info, in a wide range with changing loads of significance. This enables sensorless control over operations with unknown torque, such as transmission oil pumps. The PWM driving scheme can be altered to match different motor currents, offering compatibility, efficiency, low torque ripple and minimized conducted and radiated emissions.

The US63 with alarm output, is a one-chip answer for driving two-coil brushless DC cooling fans. It is built on the advanced Melexis CMOS process. The IC has a dynamic offset correction, high sensitivity Hall sensor and low side output driver. The rotation detection open-drain output creates a much easier way to connect than with an external interface such as Super I/O IC or hardware monitoring. The IC fits in a small four-pin VK package and its low cost makes it very appealing.

The US63 has a locked rotor protection and provides auto restart. It runs a very power-efficient CMOST and power MOSFETs. The unit has a built in output protection clamping diode.

The MLX90121_FSK is a 13.56MHz RFID transceiver integrated circuit which is ISO compatible and is best suited for most short to mid-range applications. It is user friendly, enabling the modulation depth in write mode to be selected accordingly. Other single sub carriers such as ASK, FSK and PSK modulations are in read only mode. The receiver is based on a diode envelope detector which is followed by an amplifier and IF filter. A logarithmic amplifier used in ASK detection facilitates fast and clean data recovery. An inbuilt open drain output transistor that can provide up to 250 miliwatts of RF power to a 50 Ohms load with a 5 volt power supply is used by the transmitter. For PSK and FSK recovery, the limiting output of the amp is used. The use of a simplified antenna and a matching network is also permitted, albeit at the cost of reduced reading range such as a hand-held reader.

Its precise acquisition chain is combined for external resistive sensors. This offers a wide range of combination possibilities. The unit can be accessed and controlled via its ISO15693 RFID front-end. Alternatively, its SPI port can also be used for access. It can be used as an RFID thermometer with the help of a 13,56 MHz tuned antenna.

One or two resistive sensors may be combined to turn the unit into a batteryless sensing point. This device can be used for measuring physical quantities. A chip can be used to supply regulated voltage to other components under the tag mode. Its standalone data logging mode can be activated by adding a battery.
