Cable and phase identification system for live cables - LCI

The mode of operation for this LCI-E transmitter is through a precious connection for the secondary side of a distribution transformer. This helps identify the medium-voltage distribution cable, which is located anywhere between the transformer and its source. Note that the LCI can be used on isolated distribution cables as well, while the equipment helps identifying the right cable before cutting off the voltage, prior to an intervention, which helps save money and time.

Helping in identifying a three-phase circuit by the identification of one of its conductors is a major advantage, while the LCI is comprised of two main parts. First, a transmitter drains electric current at a specific frequency, with the detection being possible on high-load cables. A detector is responsible for identifying the current that has been drained by the transmitter, using a magnetic sensor placed at the enclosure's tip.

Cable and phase identification system for de-energized cables - VCI-3

The VCI-3 instrument is safe and easy to use and is based on the existing current principle. The current is infused either by magnetic transducers or wire conductors. Grounding is needed at one or two of the three phase circuit tips, which can be static in the event of intervention to guarantee superior operator safety. Adding to this, the exclusive tone sensing system of the detector ensures pristine and safe tagging and identification.

The VCI-3 unit boasts a compact footprint that is easy to use. Furthermore, this functionality mode A tone transmitter, which combines a microphone and speaker to record the vocal identification message. This transmitter utilizes three clamps or direct connectivity injection wires for magnetic clip injection. These clamps generate current within the wire even if it is fitted in the sheath of the wire. This unit offers constant operation for up to eight hours owing to its rechargeable battery pack.

Cable test termination - max. 800 kV

The cable end terminations act as the connection between the test object and the voltage test system. The device is mostly used in routine, sample and type testing of plastic insualted medium and high voltage cables. These parts are in accordance with IEC 60840 (30-150 kV), IEC 62067 (150-550 kV), IEC 60060-1, IEC 60060-2 and IEC 60270.

The device consists of two types of models. These models use different techniques and method, depending on the test voltage of the cables to be tested. The oil termination system is used in testing medium voltage cables with 100 kV test voltages.

The water termination system is used in testing medium and high voltage cables with 75-kV to 800-kV test voltages. The system consist of a water conditioning unit. It is applied on AC testing, impulse voltage testing, PD measurements, loss factor measurements, etc.
