Gamma spectrometer / portable - 955

Over a decade of R&D has produced a miniature, power-conscious radiation detector that incorporates functionality well suited for numerous security applications. The 955 DNDS offers a small footprint which allows for easy integration into existing enclosures. The self-contained module has a number of options which can be tailored to each individual application. For example, 955 DNDS can be powered by a small battery while monitoring radiation and archiving important field data. In addition to monitoring a range of radiological parameters the 955 can export data through RF, Ethernet, and other secure communication protocols to an offsite command center.

For applications where only the detector material is required, the cost per unit will be significantly reduced. GM Tubes and CsI material are produced in high volume, so the reliability, accuracy, and mean time between failure (MTBF) is well documented. When considering the 955 System these detectors and receivers represent the best option for any OEM detector assembly.

This secure system represents a new generation in discrete unmanned radiological monitoring. This technology provides a highly sensitive radiation detection solution offering real-time data collection and threat identification capabilities. Both networked or standalone operations are well suited for mobile or fixed security applications.

MCA analyzer / multichannel / portable - 100 MHz, 16 bit, 256 - 8 000 channels | MCA-8000D

Amptek’s MCA8000D is a state-of-the-art, compact, high performance, digital MultiChannel Analyzer (MCA). It replaces the MCA8000A, providing the same functionality with reduced dead time, modern communications interfaces (USB, RS-232, and Ethernet), and much higher data transfer rates. Because it does not implement digital pulse shaping, it is compatible with analog pulse shaping systems.

Superior performance is obtained from a high speed ADC (a 100 MHz 16 bit ADC) and sophisticated digital logic. The MCA8000D digitizes the input signal (the output of an analog shaping amplifier) to measure the pulse height and obtain the pulse height spectrum. The high speed ADC, with a 10 ns conversion time, reduces dead time thus increasing throughput. The digital circuitry yields high accuracy and stability.

The MCA8000D includes three interfaces, USB (USB 2.0 full speed), RS-232 (up to 115 kB), and Ethernet (10base-T). It uses the same DPPMCA software package as Amptek’s digital signal processors, including the DP5, PX5, and X-123. The MCA8000D can be powered over USB or with an external AC/DC power supply.

Compromising nothing in performance, the MCA8000D is a low power, light weight instrument which is exceptionally versatile and easy to use.
