OMEGA created a series of stainless steel welded construction thermowells that are built to be utilized with 6mm or 1/4" diameter thermocouple in addition to PT100 sensors. It is highly recommended for implementations where the sensor has to be discarded without disrupting the operation like those in pipes and tanks. The measurement of the insertion length begins from the base of the threads up to the tip of the thermowell. Omega has produced thermowells with a huge variety of lengths, fittings, materials as well as diameters. A separate data sheet is provided to browse the standard models available for purchase.

Common extension types of wire are transformed into common multipair cables. The conductor is blanketed with a polyvinyl shell that is a modest 0.38 mm (0.015") thick and the pairs are twisted individually. A strong drain wire is placed over the bundle, which is then covered with a aluminum style Mylar tape to act as a static electro shield.
