Electrochemical machining (ECM) machine - EXTRUDE HONE™ PECM

The Precise Electrochemical Machining, or PECM, has a setup that follows processes like electrochemical machining. This has a non-static cathode that goes through the anode and a gap that is very small for the entire cycle process. The oscillating motion is used to keep the gap intact and keeps the electrolyte going at the highest possible amplitude. This allows machining over smaller distances with a DC pulse on the overall motion of the setup.

The unit allows the cathode to travel into a workpiece at a rate of 0.1 or 0.5mm per minute depending on the application being used. This also has an oscillation frequency of less than 100Hz. The cathode and gap conditions can influence the overall result of the unit as it is in use.
