Lathe steady rest
This shaft is one of the most accurate heavy shafts on the market. The heavy weight makes this shaft an excellent choice for milling, grinding and turning operations. Note that heavy shafts such as those used in turbines and generators require additional support during machining. The Rueckle hydrostatic steady rest is superbly engineered to avoid all geometric errors. When compared to ananti-friction bearing-mounted steady rest, the hydrostatic steady rest eliminates shaft surface tracks, saving the customer time and money.
Bending and sagging of the shafts is prevented by a compensator. Note that the steady rest case can be designed with an infeed function in the NC and manual versions, which simplifies handling greatly. The steady rest is extremely flexible, at the same time, while the supporting case is adjustable to a radius of up to 300 mm. Finally, the individual cases supports are also available, and the item is one of the safest on the market.
