The CryoMill engineered by Retsch, is a ball mill that features a superior cryogenic grinding impact to a 30 Hz frequency. This device is capable of 3 grinding modes which are cryogenic, dry or wet at ambient temperature modes. A closed LN2-system comprises the product for an enhance security to prevent contact between the user and the LN2. It also consists of a screw-top grinding jar for a leak proof operation.
For its operation, the grinding jar of the product is constantly cooled through the liquid nitrogen that comes from the combined cooling system before and during the grinding method, and therefore preserving the embrittled and volatile components of the sample.

The CM420 series of hammer mills from SANDVIK, are used mostly for applications concerning coal power stations, coal crushing systems made of iron or steel, gypsum, limestone, minerals, and salts. The crushing process starts when after the material is fed, beater heads take hold of them and they are thrown against the grinding walls repeatedly.
The CM420 optimizes the capabilities of the beater heads by placing grinding walls on both sides. The hydraulic opening device also makes the wear parts of the CM420 easily changed. It may operate in small and confined work areas. Also, they have a long operating life with high reduction ratios and is functional in a wide array of operations. Moreover, it may come with a v-belt drive or direct drive.
