The CryoMill engineered by Retsch, is a ball mill that features a superior cryogenic grinding impact to a 30 Hz frequency. This device is capable of 3 grinding modes which are cryogenic, dry or wet at ambient temperature modes. A closed LN2-system comprises the product for an enhance security to prevent contact between the user and the LN2. It also consists of a screw-top grinding jar for a leak proof operation. For its operation, the grinding jar of the product is constantly cooled through the liquid nitrogen that comes from the combined cooling system before and during the grinding method, and therefore preserving the embrittled and volatile components of the sample.
