The IQ3 three-phase electric actuator's modulating version has a design that uses a solid state reversing starter instead of electromechanical contactors. It achieves rapid control through the use of fast-response remote control circuits. It also has an electronic motor brake to achieve optimal positional control and is ideal for as many as 1,200 starts per hour. However, it does not include the hammer-blow drive for shifting valves that are not frequently used.
Options are available because second stage gearboxes have been added, including the IQ3M multi-turn output seating torque as high as 3,600Nm or 2,655lb/ft or quarter-turn as high as 58,000Nm or 42,778lb/ft.
