The seamless mechanical tubing provided by Timken is available in most standard alloy, carbon and intermediate alloy grades. It is also produced in non-standard grades. Greater ductility and strength is achieved by the rotary forging process as well as a refined and uniform grain structure.
Timken's seamless steel tubing is mainly classified as pressure or mechanical tubing. The latter is commonly used as the raw materials for machined components. The machining required is greatly reduced by the tubing compared with solid forms.
Fluids or gases can be conveyed under pressure in pressure tubing. This includes tubes for steam and nuclear power generation as well as plastics and chemical industries. The seamless tubing can withstand low or high temperatures, corrosion, oxidation and high pressures. It complies with standard ASTM specifications.
