Hall effect proximity sensor - A1343 series

The A1343 device is a high precision, programmable Hall effect linear sensor integrated circuit (IC) with a configurable pulse width modulated (PWM) or single edge nibble transmission (SENT) output, for both automotive and nonautomotive applications. The signal path of the A1343 provides flexibility through external programming that allows the generation of an accurate, and customized output voltage from an input magnetic signal. The A1343 provides 12 bits of output resolution, and supports a maximum bandwidth of 3 kHz. The BiCMOS, monolithic integrated circuit incorporates a Hall sensor element, precision temperature-compensating circuitry to reduce the intrinsic sensitivity and offset drift of the Hall element, a small-signal high-gain amplifier, proprietary dynamic offset cancellation circuits, and advanced output linearization circuitry.

With on-board EEPROM and advanced signal processing functions, the A1343 provides an unmatched level of customer reprogrammable options for characteristics such as gain and offset, bandwidth, output clamps, and magnetic range selection. In addition, the device supports separate hot and cold, 1st and 2nd order temperature compensation.

Hall effect proximity sensor / gear tooth - 0.4 - 2.5 mm | ATS616

The ATS616 gear-tooth sensor IC is a peak-detecting device that uses automatic gain control and an integrated capacitor to provide extremely accurate gear edge detection down to low operating speeds. Each package consists of a high-temperature plastic shell that holds together a samarium-cobalt pellet, a pole piece, and a differential open-collector Hall IC that has been optimized to the magnetic circuit. This small package can be easily assembled and used in conjunction with a wide variety of gear shapes and sizes.

The technology used for this circuit is Hall-effect based. The chip incorporates a dual-element Hall IC that switches in response to differential magnetic signals created by ferromagnetic targets. The sophisticated processing circuitry contains an A-to-D converter that self-calibrates (normalizes) the internal gain of the device to minimize the effect of air-gap variations. The patented peak-detecting filter circuit eliminates magnet and system offsets and has the ability to discriminate relatively fast changes such as those caused by tilt, gear wobble, and eccentricities. This easy-to-integrate solution provides first-tooth detection and stable operation to extremely low rpm. The ATS616 can be used as a replacement for the ATS612LSB, eliminating the external peak-holding capacitor needed by the ATS612LSB.

Analog Hall Sensor

Linear motors can be positioned extremely accurately by using optical encoders and rulers. If this is not required this expensive setup can be replaced by an analog Hall module. This module uses the magnet track, as opposed to the ruler, as the linear scale. It can be easily mounted on our iron core motors and communicates with practically all standard servo controllers. The analog Hall module requires a standard 5Vdc power supply.
