It is fault-tolerant and can operate normally even with a short or open circuit. Since the device has no central processing unit (CPU), the risk of a common failure point is eliminated. A standard OPC interface is included for the convenient integration with third party systems. Syntel also records alarm and configuration information through a distributed non-volatile memory which makes it operation independent from a centralized system.

The device is built with a simple system configuration following a flexible system design, to achieve a user-specific interface.
